About the project
Emergency Departments (EDs) face increasingly complex operational challenges, including rising demand, constrained resources and highly variable patient flows.
To support simulation-based analysis and planning in such settings, we propose a reusable domain-specific modelling language (DSML) that lets ED stakeholders model their processes intuitively.
Unlike traditional simulation modelling, which often requires programming expertise, our approach empowers domain experts to design and reuse high-level simulation constructs through a modelling workbench that interweaves graphical (GLSP) and textual (Langium) editing.
The goal is to bridge the gap between domain experts and simulation technologies, enabling scenario exploration, operational redesign and policy evaluation without requiring simulation code expertise.
